Phillies Bridge Farm Project is hosting our annual Farm to Families Benefit Dinner and Wine Auction. Please join us for an evening of deliciously prepared local and organic foods in support of a good cause.
Now more than ever - local families need the food we provide through our Farm to Families Program. Our produce reaches 1,000 local, needy people each year - many of whom are children who have never tasted a fresh vegetable. This program distributes food grown on the farm to residents in need through various county agencies.
Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010
Time: 6 PM
Location: Main Course, New Paltz, NY
Tickets: $125 each (includes a 6-course, locally-sourced, organic meal and wine)
All proceeds above food ingredient costs will go directly to the Farm to Families Program with $100 of the ticket price tax-deductible.
Please RSVP by March 16th by contacting Frank at (845) 256-9108 or kraat@newpaltz.edu.
Event Details: This year, Chef Bruce Kazan will prepare the 6-course menu featuring local and organic ingredients with wine pairings provided by New Paltz Wine and Spirits. Our own Fred Mayo will conduct the wine auction featuring wines donated by our Board Members, each with a special story of its own.
If you are not able to attend, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Farm to Families Program by clicking below:
The Farm to Families Program provides fresh food and a farm experience to low-income families in Ulster County. In partnership with local agencies, we distribute our CSA (community supported agriculture) shares to low-income families, and also host a farm visit and cooking demonstrations for participants of the program. For some, this is the first time they have visited a farm, picked fresh vegetables, or seen the delight in their children's faces as they taste a fresh vegetable just harvested from the fields.
Farm to Families has established partnerships with local agencies which provide parenting and nutrition education for families with young children. Some of our partners include:
- Cornell Cooperative Extension: Eat Smart New York and Food Stamp Nutrition Education programs
- Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute Healthy Start Program
- Hudson River HealthCare
- Families of Woodstock
